Is it Expensive to Learn to Play the Drums?

Learning the drums doesn’t have to be any more expensive then learning to play the guitar or the piano, in fact if you choose to use a self study course such as dvd drum lessons then you can learn the drums for less then other instruments.
The expensive part of learning the drums is often getting your first kit. I suggest beginners check out websites like craigslist or kijiji to look for people selling good used kits. This way you won’t break the bank and you can decide if it’s something you want to stick with or not before having to sink too much money into it.
